Senior Java/Kotlin Developer

You’ll Be:
• Designing, developing, and maintaining backend solutions primarily in Kotlin
• Building scalable and robust systems using Spring Boot or Quarkus
• Working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Creating smooth deployment pipelines and solid CI/CD practices
• Supporting secure integrations and data exchange between systems
• Experimenting with new tools and approaches to keep code modern and clean
• Coaching teammates and contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing
• Collaborating in Agile squads with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders
You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Kotlin (Java is also important)
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle)
• Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, Redis, Vert.x)
• Some front-end exposure (React, Angular, Vue) is a nice-to-have
• Bonus points for Infrastructure-as-Code tooling like Terraform
• Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Curiosity about sustainability and a passion for building impactful software
• Dutch language proficiency
